EN That's how we started the Moravian bicross league. This year, the series consists of only 10 races based on the decision of the BMX commission. And the opening double race was hosted by the traditional organizer Tufír Team Míkovice. The weather and the fact that it was the start of the league season attracted 244 riders to the start on Saturday and 235 on Sunday. Of course, most of the starters were from "home" Moravia, but a very large group of competitors also visited us from Slovakia, and Polish and Hungarian could also be heard. The Moravian League did not leave riders from distant Prague, Venice and other bastions of this sport in Bohemia alone. The races took place without the slightest hiccups and delays. Riders also avoided injury on Saturday, so the attending doctor was "pleased" with at least one collarbone on Sunday. We thank all the participating riders for deciding to come to us to race and also for many thanks to the organizers on their part when they left. The organizing team, made up of parents of local competitors, is always pleased by the response that they are doing well, both in terms of their own races and other facilities for the weekend stay of entire families. Allow me to conclude with a little reflection. This year means big changes in the organization, especially of so-called lower-level races, such as MBL and ČBL. Previously, locally managed (Bohemia/Moravia) race series were agreed upon within the clubs and the outputs of these agreements were incorporated into the Implementation Guidelines through a representative in the BMX Commission. The change in management of bicross leagues, when the new BMX commission took over, means the standardization of series at all levels and the reduction of their number. It's hard to accept the argument that even parents need to rest sometimes when every club that owns a track wants to host races, even for economic reasons. Let's leave the argument that many races mean less participation to the organizers' risk, as well as whether someone wants to rest or go to the races. I remember when we were told what was best for us. Controlling from one desk may mean that not all seats are visible. It is difficult for clubs to get new applicants when it is not possible to list the category of newcomers and the number of bicross league races is what it is. Cross-country skiing, as one of the few sports, enables competitive participation from the age of 4-5. Starting with a child straight at the railway station and spending the weekend on the other side of the country for 2 × 3 drives is economic nonsense, especially today. Due to the small number of registered competitors (like it or not, BMX is a microsport https://cf.datawrapper.de/Hhf8r/6/ ) it is probably inappropriate to push the organizers into non-series races. For 851 valid licenses and 33 clubs in the republic, the two-level race system is proven and completely sufficient. When these races generate 2,000 truly active riders, we'll tackle more levels, even with qualifications for the higher ones. This year we won't be rerouting the old train, but we need to prepare for the next season even earlier and agree on everything in a single meeting, like before.
