EN Závody Bikers started their Czech Cup this year with the first two races. An unprecedented 368 competitors took part in the first of the two races, which took place in Bohnice in Prague, including riders from Austria, Germany, Slovakia and Hungary. The track was excellently prepared, and therefore there was no shortage of close elbow-to-elbow battles, as we are used to in bicross. In the combined Junior, U23 and Elite categories, which are the most attractive for spectators, 12 riders participated, the most successful of whom was junior Marek Neužil, followed by U23 riders Matěj Linhart from Uničov and Lukáš Mentlík from Prague's Olympus. It was also interesting to watch the combined Boys 15/16 category, i.e. riders in front of the gates of the elite Junior category. There were 41 of them in the starting field, which brings great promise for the expansion of the junior categories next year. Jakub Klement from Opava performed best in this category, followed by Viktor Oldřich Chudoba from Prague's Řep and Jakub Cidlinski from Venice. On Sunday, the weather did not favor the bikers. The all-day rain affected the condition of the track, when, even with regard to the safety of the drivers, the race was ended prematurely after three qualifying runs. Of course, the BMX rules also remember that, and that's why the winners could be announced even if the final rides were not completed. In the combined Junior, U23 and Elite categories, Marek Neužil, who was second this time, and Matěj Linhart, who avenged Marek's defeat in the first race, swapped the order compared to the first day. Third again was Lukáš Mentlík. There was also a change in the Boys 15/16 category compared to the first race, when Jakub Cidlinský from Benátek nad Jizerou became the winner, followed by Jakub Klement from Opava and Viktor Oldřich Chudoba from Prague Řep. The next Czech Cup awaits bikers on June 18 and 19 in Venátky nad Jizerou, where, thanks to the attractive SX hill, a high turnout is expected again.
