EN A large turnout of riders, exciting fights, bike to bike, a well-prepared track with a newly modified professional section, wonderful weather, only light falls, pleasant background of the South Moravian metropolis and the organizing club BMX TEAM BRNO in Nové Lískovec. Last but not least, another excellent commentary performance by Lukáš Beděrka, that's how the 5th and 6th rounds of the Czech BMX Cup could be summed up in a nutshell. Saturday's 365 competitors provided a great spectacle, exciting battles and sometimes even unbelievable overtaking maneuvers, especially in the elite categories. The last final race of the day in the combined Men Junior/U23/Elite category then brought the culmination of the entire Saturday program with the result: 1. Vesecký, 2. Klement, 3. Žalman. However, it was amazing to watch the zeal and enthusiasm with which even the smallest tackled the track, when four- and five-year-old competitors, without whom this beautiful sport cannot do without and who form an ever-growing base, start in the under-6 category. Sunday then attracted 363 competitors to the start in already really tropical weather, when the temperature reached 30 °C in the shade. Once again, the racers did not give themselves even a centimeter of the track for free. Fortunately, all the minor falls were without serious injuries. The final final race of the day in the combined Men Junior/U23/Elite category ended in the same order as on Saturday: Vesecký, Klement, Žalman. Some had the luck and speed to reach the highest step on Saturday and Sunday and they are: Horyna, Studníková, Šantavá, Neugebauer, Tejmarová, Skřejpek, Boček, Kalábová, Ráliš, Haluza, Lapková, Bartůňková, Žáčková, Valkoun. As from this year all Czech Cup competitions are classified in the international category C2, their progress is overseen by a delegated referee. This weekend it was an Italian referee who, according to her statement, was satisfied with the course of the races.
