EN The fifth and sixth rounds of the European BMX Cup 2024 were hosted by the Czech Republic. The first-class bicross area in Venátky nad Jizerou took over the organization again after last year's successful premiere, and together with the promised weather forecast, many were looking forward to how it would all go. And the weekend went great for the national team! Evropský pohár Elen Lapková not only followed up on her final positions from Zolder, but even came a little closer to placing on the podium. Saturday's fourth place in the Girls 15/16 category is her best this year so far, which she followed up with Sunday's fifth place. Vít Novotný was one of the fastest riders in the Boys 15/16 category throughout the weekend. Although luck was not on his side on Saturday, Sunday was in a completely different spirit for him. He calmly reached the finals, where he flashed a famous performance and reached the top spot! We had the most representation in the Junior Men category, namely five riders. Jakub Cidlinský was the only one to fight his way to the final of Saturday's race and finished in sixth place. His participation was followed up in Sunday's race by Jakub Klement, for whom crossing the finish line was a sign of a silver medal. One of the pillars of our team, Marek Neužil, presented himself at the start for the first time since his injury, which he sustained during the World Cup in New Zealand. By winning Saturday's race in the Men U23 category, he gave a great reminder to all his rivals. On Sunday, he was accompanied to the final by Jakub Vesecký, who made the most of the advantage of the home environment, and for whom it was his first placement in the Top 8. Together, they took care of the result Neužil 3 - Vesecký 6. Sabina Košárková qualified for the finals in the Women U23 category on both days. Saturday's sixth place, perhaps a bit bitter for her, improved significantly on Sunday and finished in second place! Our elite Eliška Bartůňková, like Sabina, had a similar course of the weekend. She turned Saturday's fourth place into Sunday's third. The great cheering audience and the atmosphere only underlined the already very successful European weekend for our national team. Thank you all!
