EN This weekend, the Czech Republic Pumptrack Championship and the final two rounds of the European BMX Cup were on offer for the competitors. The second year of the MČR pumptrack was organized by the city of Venátky nad Jizerou, which thus expanded its portfolio with another BMX discipline. The Belgian town of Ravels, on the other hand, closed this year's UEC European BMX Cup. Závody At the start of the MČR pumptrack, a total of 56 riders presented themselves, including several BMX riders, which we normally see on domestic tracks as part of the Czech Cup or leagues. The preparation and experience gained from bicross played a big role in the overall results and it is just another proof of how comprehensive and effective for different disciplines bicross is. Just think of Sabina Košárková competing in downhill or former cyclocross racer Jan Pořízek, the recent junior world champion on the track. Competitors were divided into a total of five categories, namely Expert, Junior, Masters, Girls/Women and Elite. The following riders became medalists and new champions of the country: Cat. Expert: 1st place - Jonáš Zelenka 2nd place - Jiří Slepička 3rd place - Stanislav Svoboda Jr. Cat. Junior: 1st place - Denis Krejčí 2nd place - Oliver Lodr 3rd place - Marek Nehoda Cat. Masters: 1st place - Radek Liška 2nd place - Stanislav Svoboda st. 3rd place - Jakub Vavřinec Cat. Girls/Women: 1st place - Kristýna Utínková 2nd place - Lucie Černá 3rd place - Katarína Tóthová Cat. Elite: 1st place - Tomáš Haluza 2nd place - Dominik Vašut 3rd place - Jiří Weiner In the Belgian Ravels, we did not have the same representation of riders as during the spring rounds of the EP. Even so, our competitors return home with several successes. Let's start with the Championships categories, which also include Boys and Girls 15/16 categories at the UEC competitions. Elen Lapková (Girls 15/16) finished third on Saturday and thus consolidated her position on the box in the overall ranking. On Sunday, she added another final position (7th place) to reach second place overall in the 2024 BMX European Cup series. Vít Novotný (Boys 15/16) recorded one final position, sixth place in Sunday's race. His results at the EP this year earned him 5th place overall. Like Elen, Marek Neužil (Men U23) was a finalist on both days. He improved his unsatisfactory eighth place on Saturday with a bronze medal on Sunday. He reached this stage twice on Sunday, as he placed third in the overall ranking of the EP. Even Eliška Bartuňková (Women Elite) was not idle and presented herself at the start of the finals on both days. She repeated Saturday's seventh place on Sunday and followed Neužil in the overall standings, i.e. overall third place in the European BMX Cup 2024. In the team competition of this year's UEC European BMX Cup, our team consisting of Elen Lapková, Eliška Bartuňková, Vít Novotný, Marek Neužil, Sabina Košárková and Jakub Cidlinský took second place! The Pamo BMX Racing Team took first place and the Wilco Groenendaal.com team finished third. Riders in the Challenge categories at Ravels also recorded final placings. Lukáš Smrž finished seventh in the Cruiser 45+ category in Sunday's race. Tadeáš Vlk (Cat. Boys 10) didn't give his rivals a chance all weekend and will take home two first places. Even Jiří Kabriel (Cat. Boys 12) climbed to the podium on both days, on Saturday to second place and on Sunday to third place. Barbora Maarová (cat. Girls 11/12) finished fifth in Belgium on Saturday and fourth on Sunday. On Sunday, she was accompanied to the final by Dominika Vysocká, who took seventh place. Tadeáš Vlko was imitated by Dominik Ráliš, who led the Boys 13 category for both days. He was not the only Czech in the final of this category, as he joined David Lapka (6th place) and Adam Peterko (3rd place) at the start of Saturday's final. In Sunday's race, Ráliš was joined by Adam Peterek, and after Saturday's third place, he took eighth place on Sunday.
