EN The opening weekend of this year's Czech BMX Cup series was marked by many changes. The name of the series itself received a new form, as the long-time partner of ČP BMX is now called allwyn. But that was not all! Last weekend also tested big news for the first time in the field of domestic bicross. Perhaps the biggest was the inclusion of purely girls' categories, and the Pardubice weekend showed that it was a good step for the promotion of the fairer sex in our sport. Exactly 377 riders started the allwyn Czech BMX Cup 2026, on Sunday the participation was slightly lower. For the Junior/U23/Elite categories, in addition to the ČP, there was also a C2 race. In the end, the original idea of separate categories did not materialize and the fastest ones again raced together. Unfortunately, the women were deprived of UCI points because the required number of starters was not met. An interesting addition was the participation of Matěj Badánik, who has been racing under the Czech flag since this year, but learned bicross basics in the USA. Another new rule that was tested in practice for the first time was the announcement of the TOP 3 riders in their categories. The other participants in the final races received their trophies at the finish line after the finish line. In the same way, the semi-final races for the youngest drivers were a novelty and we are glad that they succeeded in making the transition to licensed competitors. The livestream was traditionally great, the CzechBMX YouTube channel surpassed 1,000 subscribers before the season, and on Monday morning we see over 3,500 views for both recordings! The fastest combined Men Junior/U23/Elite category was evenly matched all weekend and it was almost impossible to pick a favourite. However, in the two most important races of the weekend, the same competitor crossed the finish line first, namely Vít Novotný from TJ Favorit Brno. On Saturday, Adam Bábek from Unič finished behind him in second place, and Jakub Klement from Opava finished third. On Sunday, local Vít Gruntorád wedged himself between Novotný and Klement. Among the Boys 15/16, the home team Dominik Ráliš reigned supreme on both days. He was accompanied to the podium on Saturday by Štěpán Havelka from Vyško and Matyáš Krnáč from Rep, David Lapka from Bohnica on Sunday and Havelka from Silver on Saturday. Complete results for both days are available here on the website.
