EN Riders regularly participating in European races have become accustomed to Easter being celebrated in Zolder, Belgium. The holiday long weekend is thus spent right on the grounds of the autodrome, which in the past also hosted Formula 1 races and also hosts world cyclocross races every year. If we add to that the new modern indoor velodrome, it will turn out to be a very attractive place. Evropský pohár The bicross track itself would need a new coat, especially the new asphalt in the corners, which has been very polished and not very sticky over the years, but there is talk that the rebuilding of the track is on the way. I hope so! Our selection of Talent Team and BMX Representation riders followed up on the successes from Verona and added another final position to their account. On Saturday, junior Viktor Oldřich Chudoba, who repeated the fifth place from Verona, and Sabina Košárková (Women U23) took care of them, who, after a broken start, threw herself into the chase and reached the bronze. Eliška Bartuňková (Women Elite) finished the race in the semi-finals and, after an unfortunate fall, junior Elen Lapková, who did not participate in Sunday's race due to an injured ankle. Vít Novotný, a first-year junior, finished in the mentioned Sunday race, apparently for his greatest success to date. He chose a tactic modeled after Niek Kimmann, he started from the outside track in all the qualifying races and finished the race in fourth place. Eliška Bartuňková finished the race again in her semi-final run and the same was true for Sabina Košárková, who received Relegation and her progress to the final was thus taken away from her. Marek Neužil also found his rhythm on Sunday and in the semi-finals he moved on the progress bars, from which he was pushed off the track in the last corner and the subsequent fall caused him to injure his left thigh muscle. Marek is now healing his injury and hopefully he will be back on the bike soon. We had the final position not only among the Championship categories, but also among the Challenge categories. They have a somewhat unconventional schedule in Zolder and their two rounds are divided into three days, Saturday to Monday. In Saturday's race, it was Laura Tejmarová and Tomáš Souček who won. Laura was our only representative in the Girls 8 category, but this does not apply to Souček and the Boys 11 category. He was joined on the podium by second Tadeáš Vlk and third Jan Očenášek, and just below the podium also fifth Matyáš Karel Klapetek! Martin Barabáš (Cruiser 40-44) and Sebastián Štěpánek (Boys 8) will also take fifth place from Saturday's race. On Sunday, we witnessed dominance in the Boys 14 category. Out of eight possible places at the start of the final race, Czech riders took five. Those in question are Dominik Ráliš (1st place), David Lapka (4th place), Štěpán Havelka (5th place), Alan Pětioký (7th place) and Matyáš Krnáč (8th place). In the Boys 13 category, Jirka Kabriel joined our finalists, finishing the race in sixth place. Monday, which already belonged purely to Challenge category riders, was also successful for us. Laura Tejmarová won again in the Girls 8 category, Sebastián Štěpánek took seventh place in the Boys 8 category, Benjamin Fojtík finished sixth (Boys 13), Tomáš Haluza finished in fourth place among men 25+. And then we had two finals with three and four representatives from the Czech Republic! In the Boys 14 category they were Dominik Ráliš (2nd place), Matyáš Krnáč (4th place) and Adam Peterek (7th place). Boys 11 and another purely Czech podium, which was taken care of by the again victorious Tomáš Souček, Jan Očenášek (2nd place) and Matyáš Karel Klapetek (3rd place). Tadeáš Vlk finished eighth in this final after falling. The next stop of the UEC European BMX Racing Cup will be Lempdes, France.
