Already 20 years have passed since the last triumph in the world cup, which was achieved by Michal Prokop in the American San Jose. The whole week in the Dutch Papendal was affected by bad weather, when training sessions were canceled or shortened due to heavy rain. Vít Gruntorád, already ready after injury, joined the Sarrian line-up of our national team. On the men's side of the weekend races, Marko Neužil did best. He tried out elite competition in Sarrians and in Papendal he showed everyone that he has got used to the transfer to the highest category and showed very stable performances at the weekend. On Saturday, he finished just short of the gates of the final and took overall 9th place! Such a result in itself would be good for our team, but just a few minutes after Neužil's semi-final run, Sabina Košárková started the U23 Women's final. She experienced a hectic final, from which she came out the best of all the participants. Huge euphoria and celebrations of the World Cup victory followed. She then underlined her success on Saturday with a bronze medal on Sunday, and in the overall standings of the SP she is in second place after four rounds!

The sad news is the injury of Marko Neužil from Sunday's race. He dislocated his AC joint when he fell on the first straight. Let's believe that the recovery will not take too long.

The riders who have nominated themselves for the upcoming European Championship now have the last few days of final preparations and will travel together back to Sarrians in France in a week.
