EN For the fourth year in a row, the European bicross elite met in Venátky nad Jizerou. The fifth and sixth rounds of the UEC European Cup were hosted by the SC BMX Venice section of Venice, and throughout the weekend there was a lot of positive feedback about the local technical track. The golden, albeit bronze, nail of Sunday's block of the Championships category was the performance of Marko Neužil, who drove brilliantly among the elite. In addition to the traditional line-up of Talent Team and BMX National Team riders, we also welcomed Sabina Košárková to the start, who at the last minute more or less managed to heal a small fracture of her wrist, and thus she could present herself for the first time in the new national team jersey. Two podium finishes for Sabina means that she is on the right track for the summer highlights of the season. A trio of riders in the Boys 15/16 category made it to Saturday's final. Matyáš Krnáč took third place, Matěj Pavka finished fourth and Dominik Ráliš also crossed the finish line just behind Pavka in fifth place. Junior Elen Lapková shone with an excellent third place. The last finalist was the aforementioned Košárková, who took silver on Saturday and took bronze on Sunday. Perhaps it was the nervousness of the Saturday round in front of the home audience, which, judging by the number of Czech finalists, was a little poorer than the second day. On Sunday, the tribune drove the eight Czechs forward! Unfortunately, Krnáč dropped out of the traditional trio of finalists among Boys 15/16 this time, so the finals concerned only Ráliš and Pavka. Matěj Pavka repeated Saturday's placing, i.e. fourth place. At Ráliš, after contact with the opponent, the eighth place remained. Even before the start of this category, we watched another pair of Czechs, respectively Czechs. Štěpánka Fremlová and Veronika Žáčková fought their way to the final of the Girls 15/16 category, where Fremlová and Žáčková took seventh and eighth place respectively. Elen Lapková was unable to repeat her great pass on the first straight and had to settle for eighth place on Sunday. An excellent semi-final ride earned Viktor Oldřich Chudob a final position, who thus added to his account the second final of the year among Men U23. He took seventh place in Venice on Sunday. At the end, Marek Neužil took care of the famous spectacle. He made it to the final among the elite, where he crossed the finish line in third place! The World Cups are slowly approaching and let's believe that our riders are really motivated. The afternoon block on both days belonged to the riders of the Challenge category, where the abundant participation of Czech riders resembled a Czech Cup race! Great performances and great promise for the future. Finally, it is appropriate to express recognition and praise to the Venetian section for a very successful EP year.
